Janet Hinkley has been on the Schermerhorn property management team since 2004 and currently manages a portfolio of apartment buildings in northern Chicago. As a licensed leasing agent, she is committed to providing fair access to well-maintained properties that tenants are proud to call home.  Her earlier career experiences in banking, small business ownership/entrepreneurship, and property management contribute to her ability to provide comprehensive property management support for owners and positive experiences for tenants.  In her spare time, Janet enjoys gardening, fitness activities, and quilting.

Gregory Hughes has over 25 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate Property Management, Leasing and Development.  He is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in Illinois and has his Wisconsin License.  Maintaining commercial properties in a first-class manner is his specialty.  He completed the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business Real Estate Program.  He loves everything outdoors; from snowmobiling, biking, X/C skiing, hiking, golf, and has even raced six Chicago Mackinac Sailboat races.

Frank Ivic has been a property manager with our team since 2022 and currently manages rental properties and condominium associations.  Prior to joining Schermerhorn & Co., Frank worked in hospitality management at several downtown Chicago hotels.  Frank also assists the office with any IT issues we may have.  When not at work Frank enjoys cooking cuisines from around the world and spending time traveling around Europe.

Samiye has worked at Schermerhorn & Co as a bookkeeper since 1995. She has a Master’s Degree in Marketing.  She belongs to Rotary Club of Wheeling.  She loves to read, garden and travel.  She was born and raised in Turkey.

Carmen has been a part of the administrative team at Schermerhorn & Co since 2016.  Through her many years in real estate, she has a working knowledge of administrative responsibility to better understand how our management team operates.

Should you desire information to better navigate your AppFolio portal, have questions about minor bookkeeping issues, need assistance with your application and/or need lease information, or simply have general maintenance inquiries, she can assist you.  Schermerhorn & Co has encouraged its administrative team to provide you with the information you need or put you in contact with a manager or janitor that can better assist you.

On a personal note, her favorite thing to do is learn and see new and exciting things.  She is proud to be from a world class city like Chicago.  She enjoys reading about history and is quick to ask trivia questions.  She loves spending time at home and in her community.  She considers herself creative and enjoys arts and crafts. She is proficient in Excel and Word and if she does not know how to do something, she finds a way to figure it out.

With 25 years of Real Estate experience, Jennifer Quinlan is an Accounting Manager for Schermerhorn & CO., and has been with us since 2011.  She manages all the books and records, payables and receivables, bank reconciliations and financial reporting for the commercial properties.  Jennifer also works with external accountants on year-end journal entries and assists on calculating annual CAM/Real Estate adjustment.

Jennifer graduated with a B.S. from Marquette University, received her MBA from Loyola University-Chicago Graduate School of Business, and received her Real Estate Certificate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Real Estate Executive Program.  Jennifer grew up in Evanston and is a huge sports fan (Go Marquette basketball!!)

Dan joined the company in 1984 and serves as President and Designated Managing Broker.  Dan’s many years of experience in multi-family, association, and commercial property management provide a valuable resource to clients and customers alike.  Dan holds the designation of Certified Property Manager from the Institute of Real Estate Management, has served as president of The North Shore-Barrington Association of Realtors, and is a past director of The National Association of Realtors. 

Dan and his wife live in Evanston where they raised their two children. Dan’s commitments to the community include serving on the financial advisory council of The Benedictine Sisters of Chicago, Director and Co-Treasurer of The Academy at St. Joan of Arc, and a member of the North Suburban Housing Providers.  When not working, you can find Dan at the lake, trying out new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.

Jim is Vice President of Schermerhorn and Co., joining the team in 1994 after working for a large Chicago commercial property management firm.  Jim holds a managing broker's license and has been a Licensed Realtor since 1990. He is a member of the North Shore-Barrington Association of Realtors, a member of the National Association of Realtors, and was Past President of the Evanston Chamber of Commerce in 2017. Jim has a track record of achieving full occupancy for a variety of rental properties. His expertise includes managing financials, overseeing maintenance, and implementing improvement projects that increase tenant satisfaction and property values.

Joan Schermerhorn has spent 2 + decades as a Property Manager with Schermerhorn & Co. She has an Illinois Broker’s license and an Illinois Community Association Manager’s license. Joan likes the versatility of managing Residential rentals, Condominium Associations, and Co-Op buildings. Communication is the key to her success working with owners, tenants and Board Members. In addition to her property management duties, Joan is also the head of Human Resources. Joan loves Lake Geneva and horses. She spends time gardening, playing cards with her friends, reading and travels whenever she can get away.

Bill is a property manager and the vice president of construction and redevelopment at Schermerhorn & Co., where he manages over 12 properties and oversees all construction and redevelopment projects across the Schermerhorn & Company portfolio. including Projects include apartment & common area renovations, retail space buildouts, facade renovations, and capital improvement campaigns.

Prior to joining Schermerhorn & Co. in 2010, Bill spent 25 years in real estate development & construction. He has developed land, subdivisions, multifamily properties, townhomes, retail centers, and custom homes and has executed renovations across various asset classes.

Each Fall, Bill serves on the board of the Northbrook Junior Spartans Football Organization. In his free time, Bill enjoys woodworking, playing pickleball, riding bikes with his wife, and spending time with his family at the lake.

Edward Tasciotti is the newest member of our property management team and focuses on condominium associations. With 20 years of experience, Edward has been involved in every aspect of Association management. Edward’s organizational skills and attention to detail allow him to keep track of multiple projects, various owners' concerns, and the overall condition of the associations he manages. Michael Wolter has been a Property Manager since 1990 and has been with Schermerhorn & Co. since 2008.  He is a graduate of New Trier High School, has an Associate’s degree in Accounting from Northwestern University and a B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  He works primarily managing multi-family rental properties and office properties.  Mike will be glad to help you find the right real estate product to fit your needs.
