We are very pleased with the growth of our commercial property management portfolio. Properties include office buildings, retail shopping facilities, and mixed use properties, in the north and northwest suburbs of Chicago. We realize that to be successful in this economy, the relationship between ownership and tenants must be stronger than ever. REDEVELOPMENT AND CONSTRUCTION
Our newest division, Redevelopment and Construction, focuses on working with property owners to get the most out of their properties. When it is time to move a property in a new direction, we can provide assistance in developing a property to its highest and best use. We work through the design and architectural drawing phase; the municipal approval phase including zoning, architectural review, and permit approvals; as well as the construction phase. We also work with commercial properties performing build-out and renovation services for owners and tenants alike. We would be happy to work with you on your next development or construction project.
Schermerhorn & Co. was formed in 1967 and started out serving Evanston and the surrounding communities. Our company was founded by J. P. Schermerhorn who served as Chairman of the Board from 1967 - 2012. Over the past 45+ years we have expanded our service area to include the North Side of Chicago, the North and Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, and Southern Wisconsin. We employ a very "hands-on" approach to managing the properties in our portfolio. We get to know our clients' needs as well as the needs of the properties themselves. Our goal is to enhance the value of each property we manage through constant attention to the specific needs of each property and client. Office and Staff
Our office is fully equipped with an integrated network of computer and communication systems. We have full access to all the Residential and Commercial Property Listing Services, the Public Record Searches, and other tools and services that our agents need in order to better serve you.
Our accounting staff has the tools and programs they need to keep track of each property's financial records. On a daily basis all receipts and disbursements are recorded to each property so that the property manager has the latest financial information at their finger tips. This allows the property manager to keep our clients up to date as to the financial condition of their properties.
Our administrative staff provides the support necessary to allow our managers to focus on your needs. They are the backbone to the personal approach we use in our business. When you call, you will speak to our staff immediately. Your call will be answered personally and you will be directed to the appropriate manager or staff member without having to push buttons in an impersonal phone menu.
